FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Tradia Commerce and trade exchange concept legal?
Yes it is. In 1984. the IRS regulated the barter industry, recognizing it as a legitimate way of doing business. Our cashless system of accounting is regulated by the IRS in the same category as banks, credit card companies, and lending institutions.

How do I handle income taxes on Tradia Commerce Dollar revenues?
Every business and individual case is different. We cannot give tax or accounting advice. Please consult a licensed, reputable accounting professional regarding our specific situation. Tradia Trade Dollars are considered by the IRS to be reportable income and Tradia will provide a 1099-B each January for the preceding tax year, of all sales revenues for each Tradia account.

Is a Tradia Trade Dollar worth a dollar?
Many members believe that saving money is making money. Every time you spend Tradia Trade Dollars for anything you would normally pay cash for, is a real value in anyone's eyes.

What is backing or guaranteeing Tradia Trade Dollars?
For every Tradia Trade Dollar in circulation there is a Tradia Trade Dollar owed to circulation by another member account. To our knowledge, there isn't any other barter system that can make such a claim. We at Tradia Commerce are driven to maintain not only a balanced economy but also a barter system where a trade dollar maintains the value of a dollar.

What is the biggest benefit of using Tradia Trade Dollars?
That has to be when you spend your Tradia Trade Dollars and keep your cash in our pocket where it belongs! Secondly, it would be the new customers you receive that would not have been there without Tradia Commerce. Thirdly, wheny ou purchase through the Tradia Commerce Trade System, you are giving yourself a discount. Tradia Commerce gives you the ability to use our profit margin when ou buy as well as when you sell. For example, if you are in the tire business. you purchase at a lower price and sell at a higher price. This is our profit margin. If tires cost you $25.00 and you sell them for $50.00, then every $50.00 purchase you make with our Tradia Commerce only costs you $25.00. Every purchase you make is at your cost of doing business. Whenyou turn used inventory into Tradia Trade Dollars, it's new found money working for you. Imagine trading that used pick-up truck for Tradia Trade Dollars and spending them on much needed dental care. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Who controls my Tradia Commerce trade volume?
You control the volume of sales and purchases made through your Tradia Commerce account.  We ask each business account to be open for barter sales for at least a month at a time, if possible.  We want the Tradia directory to be as accurate as possible for all members.

If I'm a business account, is a listing in the directory mandatory?
No, some businesses are so much in demand or their profit margin is so low that being in the business directors could be detrimental to their cash flow. There are also companies who have too much cash business that it does not make good sense to replace cash with non-cash or barter business. Because of their lack of available time thes only do Tradia Commerce business to fill in the occasional down times. They love new Tradia customers, but only when it makes sense to their business.

Are there any fees involved?
Yes there are a few minimal fees that allows TLC to work for you.  There is a one time membership fee, a small monthly maintenance fee, and a small percentage fee of each transaction (much like the process of merchant credit card fees).  Talk with your trade director for more information on the applicable fees.
